MAN-E-NEWS// Metacrypt’s Sub Zeroth: Metatype at NYCC…

After months of agonising waiting, Metacrypt‘s debut kaiju “Shub Zeroth” will finally be making it’s first official appearance at this week’s NYCC. Dubbed Release .0 [Metatype], the goat headed monstrosity will be available in strictly limited numbers over at Brian Ewing‘s booth (#3320) for just $20 a pop. Cast in 6 different randomly allocated colours, the soft vinyl figure comes with a whopping 6 points of articulation, bagged and headed with an exclusive 8-page NYCC Zine… In addition to the official Metacrypt release, Brian Ewing will also have giclee prints of his fantastic graphite rendering of Shub Zeroth available. MAN-E-NEWS// Thomas the Unbuffed Tank Engine from Hoakser…

After a brief hiatus from the customising scene, UK based graffiti artist Hoakser is proud to present his latest piece, Thomas the Unbuffed Tank Engine! A one-off custom piece created from an abandoned Thomas model, the figure has been given Hoakser’s usual high quality mix of sculpting, melting, distressing and hand painting to create the meticulously weathered and beat-up train you see above. As with Adam Pratt’s past “Thomas the Rage Engine” custom, the shock factor of seeing the much loved children’s character out of context still remains, the sculpted black eyes a particularly clever touch… Measuring 16cm in length, 15cm tall, and is 9.5cm wide, Thomas the Unbuffed Tank Engine has just been added to the Hoakser Etsy store, priced at just £69.99 plus postage… Stay tuned for more Hoakser customs later in the week!

Joining the previously featured Rampage and Mechavirus collaborations, the mighty Splurrt has revealed a whole host of other figures he will be bringing with him to NYCC this weekend… including an insane super-limited MVH Sludge Demon DX! Joining Rich of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore at the Monster Island booth from 11am on Saturday, Splurrt will be offering up a huge selection of one-off Usirs, Mecha Brain Cadaver Kids, Digglers, a rather awesome looking Cadaver/Diggler mash-up, plus an exclusive Splurrt x Grizlli Atom Beastman tribute! MAN-E-NEWS// The M.I.S.T.E.R.S Lobokeshi series from I Designs…

Luke over at I Designs (Imperfecz) is proud to reveal that the long awaited Lobokeshi mini figures will be finally hitting the Imperfectz store soon! Created for horror blog Cinema Insomnia, and based around it’s host, the glasses wearing, mustachioed Mr Lobo, the series consists of 8 different figures, each kit-bashed from different classic 80’s toy lines including both M.U.S.C.L.E and M.I.M.P. Cast by Luke in an authentic flesh tone rubber, the set is due to come bagged and headed in the kitsch 80’s design seen above. Expect more news on pricing, availability and edition size to follow shortly!

MAN-E-NEWS// The Velocitron NYCC exclusives, plus the reveal of Kyuuketsushi…

Featuring as part of a huge update on the “Velulu” blog yesterday, Velocitron has revealed shots of the twisted array of figures he’ll be showcasing at NYCC this week… including the reveal of his latest creation, Kyuuketsushi! An absolutely terrifying slab of neo-kaiju if ever we did see it, the stunning Nosferatu inspired piece appears to have been cast in a soft Glow-in-the-Dark vinyl for it’s first release. Available in 2 very different painted runs, the figure has been given a mixture of light and dark rubs, the clincher for us being that awesome black and crimson combo… Dropping alongside Kyuuketsushi,Velocitron will also be reviving a few popular releases in some cool new colours, including 2 killer new versions of the giant Siccaluna collab, Kuchisake Onna (pictured bottom left). Not one to rest on her laurels, Penny over at Taylored Curiosities has been busy preparing her latest batch of adorable resin minis… the Pumpkin Seedlings! As with the previous Fuchsia edition, the micro sized figure has been sculpt and cast by Penny, this time around in a beautiful Halloween themed orange. Coming complete with hand stitched wollen sprout and felt leaves, each signed, dated and numbered Seedling has been packaged with a header in a black and white stripy bag. MAN-E-NEWS// Healeymade’s NYCC exclusive M.A.S.K x M.U.S.C.L.E customs…

Rounding off a weekend filled with M.U.S.C.L.E customs and bootlegs, we’ve saved quite possibly the best of them for last… the ingenious M.A.S.K x M.U.S.C.L.E customs from Healeymade! Joining the original Venom Ashuraman figure revived from last year, Healey has created a new unmasked variant by kit-bashing Ashuraman’s four-armed sensei with the head of M.A.S.K’s Miles “Wolf” Mayhem (Venom’s leader)! Cast in a mixture of gloss and un-glossed clear purple resins, the mini figure mash-ups will be making their debut at the myplasticheart NYCC booth next week… Fingers crossed for a general release sometime soon!

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Twist Kid” Neo Fighter from Geoff Maxfield x The Godbeast…

We originally posted about Geoff Maxfield‘s awesome “Twist Kid” a couple of months back, and whilst the figure has now been available to purchase in Geoff’s store for a while now (still need to make that purchase!), we are pleased to reveal that an exclusive run has also been created for premier designer toy emporium, Rotofugi! The first of 4 characters planned for the “Neo Fighters” universe, the M.U.S.C.L.E scaled original sculpt was prototyped/produced by Marty “The Godbeast” Hansen in a variety of blind bagged colours including GITD’s, metallics, clears, bi-colors, and even thermal-color change! Priced at just $15, the bagged and headed figure can be found either online here or at Rotofugi now…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Mechavirus “Rampage” and “Splurrt” NYCC exclusives…

It appears that Todd Virus aka Mechavirus is going all out with preparations for next week’s New York Comic Con, with the reveal of an insane batch of Splurrt’s highly sought after Mecha Brain Cadaver Kids, alongside a whole hoard of Rampage Toys sofubi! Featuring an incredible one-off Mecha-Manotaur, Mecha-Ugly Unicorns, Mecha-Zou Chans, plus an as-yet unrevealed Cyclops Dinos run, each figure has been treated with Mechavirus’ signature blend of found objects and super-slick Monster Kolor sprays… No news as to when or where they’ll be available, so your best bet is to keep track of the Mechavirus twitter feed for further updates next week.

MAN-E-NEWS// The custom bootleg M.U.S.C.L.E’s from Manny X…

Toy customiser-cum-resin artist Manny X alerted us to a brand new project he’s been working on that he figured would be right up our street… an awesome custom bootleg M.U.S.C.L.E 2 pack! Names for the figures are still forthcoming, but it appears the set will feature a cool Jack-O-Lantern inspired design, coupled with Manny’s recent Omni ‘eye’design. No news as to when these guys will be released, but we’ll be bringing you all the details as soon as they hit… We are also currently in talks with Manny with regards to our H.U.S.T.L.E Artist Series, so watch this space!

MAN-E-NEWS// The NYCC “Purple Hazey” Gustos from Blurble x DSKIone…

With New York Comic Con right around the corner, Blurble kindly shares details of his latest custom Gusto series, the Purple Hazeys… Painted up by artist DSKIone (instagram: dski_one) and to be released through Lulubell Toys at the con next week, the awesome resin figures come with more than a hint of inspiration from the legendary Jimi Hendrex, each coming sprayed in a stunning purple haze-style effect. Limited to just 4 pieces, the Purple Hazey Gustos will be available from the Lulubell booth for $60 a piece… Blurble would also like to mention that the sweet promo shot above was taken by the highly talented Niba, check out his Instagram for other amazing photos of both toys and street art at @niba13…

MAN-E-NEWS// SpinningHeadSunshine x SpinShine from Brown Noize Productions x Muscle Things…

After months of agonising waiting, the breathtaking SpinningHeadSunshine x SpinShine M.U.S.C.L.E custom from Brown Noize is finally heading into full production! Hand cast by Alec over at Muscle Things in his superior blend of “black magic” rubber, the 2 part figure will initially be available in a 100% accurate M.U.S.C.L.E flesh tone (check out how close SHS is to the original #195 figure in the middle pic!), with other mouthwatering variants to hopefully follow soon… Priced at $20 per figure ($40 for the complete head/body combo), Brown Noize Productions are currently generating a list over at the Muscle Things forum for potential buyers. Offering up something a little different than previous NYCC reveals this week (check them out here), Eric Nocella kindly shares with us this year’s hallowed Argonaut Resins poster, from German based artist Gretchen Zweigeh… Entitled “The Tuttz in Berlin”, the 11″ x 17″, signed and numbered prints have been limited to 50 pieces, coming with a price tag of just $12 each. Eric will have these at the Argonaut Resins booth (# 2479) starting on Friday, 12th October and at his signings at the Big Kev GeekStuff booth # 3261 on Saturday and Sunday from 2 – 4pm…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Infernicus” Cyborg Space Barbarian NYCC exclusive…

“Perhaps the most feared of General Gorgax’s elite cadre of Cyborg Space Barbarians is Infernicus, Dark Champion of the Elemental Flame!”

Following the work-in-progress we posted a couple of weeks back, Galaxxor creator Ben Spencr proudly presents the latest addition to the infamous Cyborg Space Barbarians, the mighty Infernicus! Consisting of a helmet that was originally designed and sculpted by Ben Spencer and produced in resin by Marty “The Godbeast” Hansen, Infernicus also features a body from a disused vintage Masters of the Universe figure, that has been brought back to life with hand painting and tlc from Ben Spencer. Easily the most striking colourway in the series yet, the flame red and yellow, subtle glowing eyes and firey main really help make the figure pop… Limited to just 6 pieces this time around, each coming complete with both The Cloak of Flame and The Infernal Jewel of Kozzuth. Priced at $60 each, Infernicus will be available at the Onell Design booth (#3216) from 6-9pm on Thursday, 1-4pm on Friday and 1-4pm on Saturday. Stay tuned for news about the second exclusive, a Galaxxor with a new head sculpted by Onell Design’s Matt Doughty!

MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// WIP H.U.S.T.L.E “Skworm Hunter” 3 pack revealed…

With ‘Ed Skworm Vs. Min-E-Face finally hitting the Man-E-Toys store in little under an hour, we’ve decided to celebrate by exclusively revealing the next batch of incoming figures… the Skworm Hunters! Allies of Min-E-Face, the Skworm Hunters are due to come in a blistered pack featuring 3 all new designs; Skworm Hunter Grunt/Archer, Skworm Hunter Youth Brigade, and our favourite, the Bully… Created from a mixture of digital sculpting, M.U.S.C.L.E kit-bashing and good old fashioned clay, we’ve decided to once again cast these in a mixture of resin and rubber to appease both mini figure and art toy fans alike… With the Archer already cast (head over to the awesomeUniversity of MUSCLE for a sneak peek), and both Bully and Youth figures nearing completion, expect the trio towards the end of next month.

Joining a whole host of exclusive figures including the previously posted GID CANNIBAL FUCKFACE and ROTWEILER HERPES, Monster Worship will be unveiling 2 all new figures… the Mini Greasebat and Thee Black Heksen! An adorable 4″ interpretation of Jeff Lamm’s highly popular creature of the night, the Mini Greasebat has once again been sculpted by the mighty Chauskoskis, coming cast in a soft Japanese vinyl with one point of articulation. NYCC will see the launch of an exclusive unpainted “Black” edition, and whilst news on price and availability are still forthcoming, we can guarantee these little beauties won’t be around for long… Roll on the first painted edition! Joining Mini Greasebat, Monster Worship will also be revealing their latest collaboration with artist Dwid Hellion, Thee Black Heksen. Standing at an impressive 7″ tall and coming with eight points of articulation, the momentous Hellion designed beast has been sculpted by MW regular Monster 5, coming cast in an NYCC exclusive unpainted “Black”. Following our look at the latest Brain Bug Boogie-Man last week, CURE have revealed yet another exclusive that will be heading to the Blackbox Toy/Music event, the NYCC 2012 MISHKA Boogie-Man! Featuring the standard BM body sculpt, the sweet looking figure has been given a samurai style head, coming complete with cleaver. Cast in a blue Glow-in-the-Dark soft vinyl, the MISHKA Boogie-Man will be available for just 11,000yen (approx. $140). We’re guessing by the “NYCC” edition tagline that a limited quantity will be available at the con next week, so be sure to stay locked on the CURE site for further developments…

Ending a week jammed packed with new figure reveals, collaborations, and much requested revivals, Peter Kato is proud to announce the third and final instalment of exclusives for next week’s NYCC, the One Year Anniversary Editions, plus the SMASH Vs. STARK Turtle Tetsujins! Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect…

The One Year Anniversary Editions// Originally debuting at last year’s NYCC, Peter has been working on a special anniversary edition of his three most popular characters; Turtle Tetsujin, FrightBite & Kawako… Cast in a Dark Crystal style mix of clear resin with a hint of black, the figures have been produced in very limited numbers (just 5 TTs and 10 of both FB and Kawako). The SMASH Vs. STARK Turtle Tetsujins// Reviving yet another classic Turtle Tetsujin colourway, Peter brings the rather awesome looking SMASH Vs. STARK! Featuring the much loved Hulk inspired design (previously posted here), SMASH, Peter has included everyone’s favourite billionaire super hero Tony Stark aka Iron Man! Coming cast in a clear red resin with yellow and metallic highlights, the figure even features an embedded jewel in it’s chest to represent Stark’s fabled power core… Limited to just 5 pieces each, both SMASH and STARK will be on sale at the Onell Design booth for $20 each.
