MAN-E-FEATURE// The Zombie Cake! MIMP mash-up mini-resin from Rampage Toys…

As we delve into the world of custom keshi/M.U.S.C.L.E in the build up to ‘Ed Skorm vs. Min-E-Face‘s release, we’ve decided to feature a piece by the artist that first inspired us to undertake the project, the Zombie Cake! from Rampage Toys’ Jon Malmstedt. Although not strictly M.U.S.C.L.E (the figure has been modified from the Hunchback MIMP), Zombie Cake! manages to hold all of the charm of Jon’s original Flexing Rainbow cupcake keshi and ACE Luchadors customs. Coming bagged with a doodled header from Jon, the stunning mash-up was hand cast by the guys over at Monstrehero in a huge selection of clear and opaque colours. Originally created for the Rampage Toys x Studio Uamou exhibition a while back, Zombie Cake! has unfortunately since sold out… Jon has stated that he will be making a return to the platform at some point this year, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a fresh batch of figures at NYCC this October!

MAN-E-NEWS// The Robot 13 mini-figures from Motorbot…

Even after his grisly encounter with an Exacto knife last week (check Instagram for the grisly details!), the ever prolific Motorbot has soldiered on, and whilst not busy casting a vast array of Meatsters, he’s been putting the final touches to the highly anticipated Robot 13 resin 5 pack! As you can see from the shot above, the 3 standing figures are nearing completion (the other 2 are crawlers!), and boy are they looking sweet! Sadly we’re still unfamiliar to the series (we still await our Robot 13 Kickstarter trade print!), so we can’t confirm which characters will be featuring apart from Robot 13 and KING!… so expect a big update once we’re more in the know. Created for the Robot 13 Kickstarter a couple of months back, the 5 packs should be making their way to pledgees in both black and pewter colourways sometime in July/August. Unfortunately, we still don’t have details on whether the release will be available outside of the KS campaign, but we’re guessing Motorbot will be working on a few editions for his shop in the near future…
