MAN-E-NEWS// First test pull shot of our debut release, ‘Ed Skworm vs. Min-E-Face!

We were greeted this morning with a very exciting e-mail from Steve Patt over at Papagrim Toys, who kindly sent us over the very first test-pull shot of our debut resin release, ‘Ed Skworm vs. Min-E-Face! Following on from our extensive reveal a couple of weeks back (find out more here), Steve has since made the molds and is now experimenting with colours to get a perfect M.U.S.C.L.E flesh tone for the initial release- as you can see in the shot above, he’s already pretty close!

Wondering who the worm guy in the middle is? Well that’s Skworm, our first original character, whose set to join ‘Ed Skworm and Min-E-Face in our store mid-June. We’ll be giving you the full lowdown on this little dude at the beginning of next week- stay tuned!!

BACKSTORYS:

MIN-E-FACE// Cast aside from the MAN-E family at birth due to a rare defect that left him without the use of two of his faces, Min-E was kindly taken in by an NJPW wrestler who nurtured the otherworldly fighting skill that laid dormant inside the young boy. Sworn enemy of the Skworm (his estranged family’s closest ally), MIN-E is about to embark on his biggest quest yet- to rid the world once and for all of these putrid, sickly creatures and gain revenge on the family that once left him for dead!

‘ED SKWORM// Although one of the smallest species of [sick worm], the ‘Ed Skworm is widely known as the most brutal. Reported to be able to ingest a whole human head within 6.66 seconds, natives of the Stench (the Skworm’s most common hunting ground) have taken to wearing ‘Pepto-dysmal’ charms, the sorry beast’s only weakness, in a bid to stay alive. With a penchant for midget Japanese Pro wrestlers, our hero Min-E will have to watch his back or he’ll be losing the use of three faces instead of two!

As such we wanted to try and make something that could be used either as it comes, or as a platform to be customized, with the added dimension of it being illuminated. The stickers we created also allow people to have some fun and get creative without having to break out the pens and paints! We worked really closely with MATHMOS to come up with the characters shape and pose, a true collaborative project in every sense of the world and we are delighted with the results.” -TADO, Chuppi press
