Following our look at the latest version of Tin Bear Teacher just a few days back, Algangu has unveiled yet another exclusive he’ll be unleashing at Wonderfestival Winter 2016 this weekend, Albino Zoo’s “Second Stage” Unico! Based on Osamu Tezuka’s classic manga of the same name, the officially licensed mini has been produced in a pastel blue soft vinyl this time around, coming with similarly soft pink and light brown sprays with black detailing. Going on sale at Algangu’s WF booth (5-10-12) this coming Sunday, February 7th, pricing for the little guy is still to be confirmed…

VideoV0mit’s Zangotchi mini figure coming soon…

Originally teased in prototype form a couple of months back, the Zangotchi mini figure from VideoV0mit will finally be available soon! Co-designed alongside DeathCat Toys‘ Johan Ulrich and sculpted by KtoKto, the Bikkuriman-style figure stands at just over 3″ tall, coming with the same chest skull, tentacled arms and shark-like head as the soon-to-be-released 9″ soft vinyl rendition. Produced by Dubose Art in both resin and rubber, we’re told to expect both painted and blank flesh editions soon… Stay tuned for more news as soon as we get it!

UkyDaydreamer x Chicky’s Ometeol Space Pod preorder…

UkyDaydreamer have teamed up with leather crafters Chicky’s for a special “Space Pod” Ometeol release! Featuring the standard 3″ tall figure produced in an unpainted clear soft vinyl, the little guy comes housed in a custom-built leather pod embellished with jewels, studs, hand stitched detailing and a keychain attachment. Mee Mie’s 妖奇Den keshi revealed…

Mee Mie have just revealed the first of a number of exclusives they’ll have up for grabs at Wondefestival Winter 2016 this weekend, an officially licensed keshi based on Shigeru Mizuki’s classic manga, 妖奇Den! Standing at around 2″ tall, the candle-headed ghoul has been produced in flesh, pink, green and “Zombie” blue keshi-style resin for it’s first outing. Going on sale at Mee Mie’s WF booth (5-18-11) this coming Sunday, February 7th, the 妖奇Den keshi will set you back just 2,500yen ($21) a piece… Look out for more reveals from Mee Mie later in the week!

Max Toy Co’s Monster Boogie Gatchapon Series unveiled…

Mark Nagata over at Max Toy Co has just unveiled an absolutely huge new release that’ll be seeing the light of day soon, the Monster Boogie Gatchapons! The brain child of Max Toy’s producer Quack Maxx, the series is set to feature a whopping total of 10 different mini-sized sculpts from a variety of different artists, including the Dino Bros from Pico Pico, a car-humanoid character who appears to be from PPPudding, plus a new rendition of Nagata’s own Eyezon. With a few of the figures already revealed in vinyl (as far back as October last year!), we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed these awesome little guys see their first release soon…

Zoomoth’s “Madden”『月風魔伝』keshi revealed…

As promised in our coverage of Bill Rizer “Ver.2” earlier in the week, we can now reveal yet another one day licensed exclusive Zoomoth will have up for grabs at Wonderfestival Winter 2016 next weekend… “Madden” from obscure 1987 hack ‘n slash 月風魔伝 (Moon-like Madden)! Fitting in perfectly with Zoomoth’s already extensive line-up of classic Konami characters, the beautifully sculpted keshi stands in-scale at an oversized 2.5″ tall. Whilst details are still thin on the ground at present, judging by past releases the little guy will be offered up in a choice of classic flesh, blue, green and orange rubber, coming packed in a capsule with insert for around 3,000yen ($25) a piece. Overseas collectors are going to need to hit up a forwarding service to be in with a chance at bagging these as licensing agreements unfortunately prevent sales outside Japan…

Seeing in the Chinese year of the monkey in style, Kikkake Toy are proud to unveil their latest release, the “Sally” Iron Monkey No.2 sofubi! Drawing inspiration from classic vintage wind-up toys, the beautifully sculpted figure stands at around 7″ tall with 5 points of articulation, coming complete with chained “Cub” omake featuring the Den-Tetsu-Jin (Thomas the Tank Engine!) head. Produced in what appears to be a flesh tone vinyl for this third release, both Iron Monkey and Cub have been treated to layers of orange, red, blue and gold sprays with brown lowlights. Fresh from his Gravy Toys exclusive release just a few weeks back, Adam Saul over at Cop A Squat Toys returns with a fresh batch of Fumetsu sofubi in a gorgeous “Coke Bottle Green” colorway! Heavily inspired by vintage toys such as Astro-Mu 5, the line features a total of 4 “trans-human” characters spread across 2 sets; Erewhon/Kurzwell in Set A and Neuman/Vinge in Set B (bottom); each coming with a removable torso that reveals a “super computer” named Ailesh that is said to control the four from within.

One-Up are proud to reveal that they’ve secured an exclusive version of Uky Daydreamer‘s latest sofubi – Queen Alice – for online release later on today! Taking on a more lifelike aesthetic than previous Uky figures, the sleek looking feline protagonist does manage to retain some of the subtle “transforming” design qualities from past releases, including a rotating face/ “Nekomimi” mask head, a fully poseable resin sabre, plus a body that can be turned upside-down to create a transporter that houses the pictured “Combat Dre” mini figure. Produced in a black soft vinyl and treated to sleek gold and silver sprays, the latest version of Queen Alice will be touching down in the One-Up store at 9pm Japan time tonight (1/29) for just 3,500yen ($30) plus shipping… But that’s not all! Yamomark have just revealed that they’ll have a whole slew of new figures up for grabs online this weekend, including the return of a personal favourite, Mushroom Soup Man! Standing at little over 9″ tall and featuring articulation in the arms, legs and waist, the fungal fighter has been treated to a paint app similar to the 2010 Medicom Toy exclusive, coming in the same black vinyl albeit with subtly different metallic blue, lilac and silver sprays. Sofubi producer Algangu has just revealed that he’ll will be unleashing the third colorway of his debut sofubi “Tin Bear Teacher” at Wonderfestival Winter 2016 next month! Inspired by the Tinman from the Wizard of Oz, the adorable vintage-styled bot stands at around 4″ tall and comes with 3 points of articulation. Produced in a clear “smoke” black soft vinyl and treated to a minimal silver, red and black paint app, the little guy will be available at Alganu’s Wonderfestival booth (5-10-12) for an undisclosed sum… Here’s hoping this edition sees an online release soon!

Restore’s “Sunrise” Iron Meat SFB…

Restore‘s Iron Meat SFB is set to return next month in an all-new “Sunrise” colorway exclusive to Wonderfestival Winter 2016! Said to be the friend of the previously released “Neo Japan”, the lumbering cyborg – originally realised in garage kit form – has been reimagined by RESTORE’s Abe Junnokai, standing at little over 8″, coming with 8 points of articulation and featuring clear cutaway sections in the stomach and on the head as well as a fully removable “rocket” arm. Produced in a bright yellow soft vinyl and treated to eye-catching red/blue free-sprays with a swathe of masked detailing, the “Sunrise” Iron Meat will be up for grabs via Restore’s WF booth on Sunday, February 7th for 9,000yen ($76). The guys over at Uamou continue a tradition started last year by celebrating the coming of Spring (and Setsubun) with a new ONI UAMOU release! The second edition of this highly sought after paint scheme comes in black soft vinyl this time around, complete beautifully contrasting bright yellow striped horns and pants. Spring Setsubun is accompanied by a special ritual to cleanse away all the evil of the former year and drive away disease-bringing evil spirits for the year to come. This special ritual is called “Mamemaki” which means literally “Bean Scattering”. The ritual is usually performed by the male head of the household. Roasted soybeans are thrown either out the door or at a member of the family wearing an Oni (demon or ogre) mask, while the people say ‘Demons out! Luck come in!’ and slam the door…”

Having only seen limited, Japan-only releases since it’s launch back in August of last year, we’re very happy to reveal that Bad Attic Toys‘ debut sofubi – 2-Faced Todd – is now finally available to purchase online! The first to feature in the ongoing Madball-inspired “Trouballz” line, the gruesome figure comes in at an authentically scaled 3″ wide, featuring a two faced, gross-out design complete with a rather clever cranium cap joint. Produced in a thick, squishy soft vinyl that mimics the knock-off rubber Madballs of the late 1980’s, Todd is available in 3 different colorways this time around; the “OG” purple, plus a vintage-style green and blue, each coming with both painted or blank buying options.
