MAN-E-NEWS// Paul Kaiju’s shop-drop this Saturday…

As promised in our coverage of the Dark Blue Mockbat yesterday, Paul Kaiju has revealed a whopping total of 4 new releases that’ll be heading to his store this Saturday, May 17th! With so much up for grabs, the figures will be split into 2 separate drops at 1pm PST and 3pm PST respectively. Here’s a quick rundown of what you can expect-

1pm Drop:

MOCKSHOCK SET- Marking the first non-con release of the beautiful Mockpilot, the 3 piece comes complete with both Mockbat and Hellmock. Painted in a contrasting mix of metallic purple and mint green against neon purple, green and orange, the trio have been priced at $300 plus shipping.

RED REE- Cast in a bright red soft vinyl, the creepy-yet-cute vintage style doll has been treated to a choice selection of metallic sprays for this release. Packed with 3 alternative bodies and heads, Red Ree comes in at just $95 plus shipping.

3pm Drop:

GID MOCKPILOT- Offering collectors a second chance to bag this incredible figure in one day, this version of the pilot has been produced in a glow in the dark soft vinyl, coming with a selection of vintage kaiju inspired metallic and neon sprays for $110 a piece.

CHIBI JINX- Last, but by no means least, we have the first official retail run of the micro-sized King Jinx! Cast in what appears to be a red vinyl, the little mite comes with gold, metallic green and pink sprays. Priced at just $20 each, these will be up for grabs alongside all of the above in the Paul Kaiju store right here

Adam Saul over at Cop A Squat Toys has just revealed that he will be dropping his latest batch of NapNapNap figures in-store today (5/16) at 7pm EST! Paying tribute to Devilman this time around, the 5″ tall Nag inspired figures have been cast in a faithful light blue resin, complete with black, dark blue and red sprays plus yellow hand painted detailing. Edition size and pricing are still to be confirmed, so we suggest heading over to the store prompt at the allotted time to avoid disappointment…

UPDATE// The Devilman NapNapNap will be going on sale for $70 plus shipping.

MAN-E-NEWS// The Tarantulas x Rampage Toys’ Kickstarter-style project announced…

As if all of this week’s Design Fiesta prep wasn’t enough, Jon over at Rampage Toys has just revealed that he’ll be teaming up with The Tarantulas for a private Kickstarter-style project to fund something that, in his words, will be “utterly awesome”! Whilst details are still very thin on the ground at the moment, Jon has revealed that the project will be kicked off with the sale of the Homer-inspired Nibbler you see above at some point next week. Stay tuned for more details on this intriguing proposal as soon as we hear anything!

Teased here earlier in the week, we can now bring you full release details for the much anticipated Devils Head Production x Splurrt Masked Digglers! A collaboration of true epic proportions, the release is set to feature a limited batch of Digglers cast in a clear purple soft vinyl with a GID double pour, each coming complete with a GID Alavaka mask and a mix of metallic sprays from both artists. Dropping at random intervals in the DHP store throughout Saturday, May 17th (with a few secret versions thrown in for good measure!) the Masked Digglers have been priced at just $60 each plus shipping…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Strange Kids Club x Disart ToyLabs “Strange Kid” Screwball…

Strange Kids Club and Disart ToyLabs pay tribute to a staple of 80s gross-out depravity with their first ever collaborative release, the Strange Kid Screwball! Inspired by legendary toy designer James Groman‘s illustration for SKC’s ongoing Circle Jerks sticker line, the stunning Madball-esque sculpt was originally undertaken by artist Jose David Cifuentes Ulloa as a fan project, quickly sparking the interest of SKC editor, Rondall Scott III, and ultimately leading to a full scale toy release. 3D printed and now currently in the hands of Tru:Tek over at Disart ToyLabs, the 3″ x 2″ figure is set to come hand cast in a bouncy, keshi-style rubber, with a number of different colorways and micro-runs planned in the near future- the first of which coming in the form of an SKC store exclusive early next month. Stay tuned for the full lowdown in the next couple of weeks!

Originally debuting at Wonderfestival back in February, Siccaluna‘s Classic Movie Monsters will finally be making an appearance in the West courtesy of Lulubell Toys! To celebrate the imminent coming of Frank, Kong, Mummy and Gillman in 8″ of glorious soft vinyl, Lulubell’s Luke Rook is currently holding a competition on IG for the chance to win one of the classic creatures. All you have to do to enter is post a drawing of one of the 4 with the tag #lulubelltoybodega, making sure both @lulubellluke and @luluamy are included so the guys can check your awesome creations! Don’t fancy your chances with pen and paper? Continuing his onslaught of releases this year, the mighty Paul Kaiju has just revealed details for this weekend’s “Dark Blue” Mockbat raffle! What has got to be one of the most eye catching painted runs of the 6″ beast so far, the figure has been cast up in a dark blue soft vinyl, coming with an explosion of metallic teal, pink, purple, orange and gold sprays. Packaged alongside a matching Hellmock mini for just $150 plus shipping, anyone looking to bag the piece is going to need to fill out the dedicated raffle form that’ll be appearing on the artist’s site (click the “Raffle Open” tab on the front page) this Sunday, May 18th at Noon PST. Open for a 24 hour period, winners will be notified via e-mail with 4 days of the raffle’s close… But that’s not all! Paul has stated that there will be a number of surprises making their way to his store over the weekend (including a Mockpilot run), so be sure to stay tuned for full details tomorrow!

Having received numerous releases since their debut at NYCC last year, Jeremi Rimel over at Miscreation Toys is proud to finally present the first hand painted run of Autopsy Zombie Staple Babies! Cast in what appears to be a tan coloured soft vinyl, the 9.5″ tall figures have been treated to a number of rubs, sprays and hand painted detailing that really help to bring out the sculpts many gruesome hidden features. Limited to a batch of just 5 this time around, the HP Autopsy Zombie Staple Babies will be touching down in the Autopsy Baby store this Saturday, May 17th at 12pm PST, priced at $275 each…

Joining the ton of figures we’ve featured over the past couple of days, Jon over at Rampage Toys is proud to present another pair of Design Fiesta exclusives that are going to leave overseas collectors positively green with envy… a one-off custom Mockpilot and a Chibi Jinx micro-run! One of the first artists to be given the honour of painting up Paul Kaiju‘s new figures, Jon certainly doesn’t disappoint with these- the 7″ tall pilot coming in a tight blend of lilac, flesh, blue and neon green sprays with a mind-bending array of highlights, washes and hand painted detailing, whilst the batch of 9 Chibis have each been treated to their own unique paint app, ranging from the signature Rampage neons through to more classically inspired palettes… Going on sale at the Rampage Toys x Fig-Lab x Refreshment booth (E167/168) this Saturday, May 17th, we would say to look out for any leftovers online next Monday, but we all know that’s just wishful thinking!

In a nod to the US premier of X-Men: Day of Future Past next week, Healeymade will be resurrecting his mysterious “head” bootleg for a special X-themed run! Inspired by Jennifer Lawrence’s character, nefarious shapeshifter “Mystique”, the 3″ tall figure has been cast in a faithful deep blue resin with neon orange and yellow hand painted detailing. Touching down in the Healeymade store this Friday, May 16th, keep track of the artist’s dedicated IG feed here for news on edition size and pricing soon…

UPDATE// Dubbed the “Mystique Bootleg Collection”, the piece has actually been cast in a clear red resin (hence the luminous look of the hair!), coming with dark blue and yellow hand painted details. Confirmed at $50 each plus shipping, the super-limited figures will be up for grabs at some point tomorrow afternoon (5/16, EST time).

Quickly gaining notoriety through his monstrous selection of handcrafted collectibles, toys and resin kits, Josh Hardie over at CreatureKits is proud to present arguably his most gruesome creation yet, speciMAN Stage 1! A disturbing mix of caterpillar and man, the partially hatched cocoon has been hand sculpted by the artist, standing at around 2.25″ tall. Cast in resin and painted in a suitably grim blend of crimson red and black washes, the figure comes housed in a 4″ glass specimen tube with removable cork. Limited to an edition of 18, speciMAN Stage 1 can be found in the CreatureKits store right here for just $36 plus shipping… Here’s hoping Stage 2 can match this little guy’s creepiness!

Turning to Japanese Sofubi impresario Mori Katsura of RealxHead, premier sub-culture magazine VICE Japan have just unveiled the latest digital short in their ongoing “A Day With…” series, taking a rather interesting look into the life of the legendary soft vinyl producer! With the help of Fig-Lab‘s Datadub, producer/director Anthony Knight of 1K Films takes viewers on a whistle-stop tour of the contemporary vinyl scene in Japan right now, with one of the many cinematic highlights coming in the form of a rare, must-see scene with Mori working alongside veteran sofubi painter Goto-San. Hot off the heals of yesterday’s massive Design Fiesta 39 reveal, Jon over at Rampage Toys returns with yet another must-have release, the Beastroyer Division 1 micro-run! Originally created as a one-off custom for the recent ToyCon UK exclusive Rampage x Tarantulas release, the ingenious Nibbler mash-up returns, featuring the same upside-down body that perfectly houses both Bobby Beast, and now Harry Demon, “driver” micros. Cast up in an army green soft vinyl with black red and silver sprays, the batch of 5 Beastroyers will be going on sale at the Rampage Toys x Fig-Lab x Refreshment booth (E167/168) this Saturday, May 17th, with any remaining stock expected to make an appearance online at some point on Monday. Newcomers MABATAKI Toys have just unveiled their debut mini figure release, “Kaikizu” from the Emerian planet! Bearing more than a passing resemblance to the much-loved Cosmos Alien Ooze-It bootlegs, the beautifully sculpted tribute has been hand cast in a hard resin, with an initial 3 colourways on offer, a light pink, a purple and an aqua green. Making their debut at the MABATAKI Toys Design Fiesta 39 booth (E202) this weekend for an undisclosed sum, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that more make it online for overseas sales in the near future…

Jonathan over at Dubose Art will soon be making a return to the bootleg scene with his latest custom keshi creation, the awesome Tripodius! A glorious mix of kit-bashed vintage M.U.S.C.L.E mini figures, the 3-armed feline gladiator features a reduced version of Jonathan’s originally sculpted Cat Fighter head, coming complete with a super-tiny bell attached around its neck. Due to be making an appearance in a keshi-style rubber at some point in the near future, we suggest keeping a close eye on the Dubose IG feed here for release details soon…

Having debuted at Superfestival a couple of weeks back, Yamomark have finally made the first run of their latest kaiju, Cosmegira, available to overseas customers! Standing at around 9″ tall, the epic “space caterpillar monster” has been cast in a vintage yellow for the release, complete with red, orange, metallic green and black sprays. Currently up for grabs via lottery until Friday, May 16th, interested parties are going to need to send over their name, country, shipping address, phone number and PayPal address to yamomark@triton.ocn.ne.jp for a chance of bagging the figure. Sticking with the Garbage Pail Kid theme today, NolanJP has revealed yet another awesome sculpt in the works inspired by the gross-out trading card series, the mighty Cyclops! Paying tribute to Ray Harryhausen’s iconic beast in 1958’s The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, the ingenious mash-up of monster and doll is already coming together nicely- with just the ice cream cone horn and club left to seal the deal! Coming in at around the same scale as the previously revealed Scary Larry (more on him later in the week), the 2.5″ figure should hopefully be seeing a release in rubber over the next couple of months.
